The Los Angeles Sonic Odyssey (LASO) features elegant and provocative concert electronic and computer music with works by some of the foremost composers of today. In collaboration with Christian Eloy of SCRIME (Studios de Création et Recherche en Informatique et Musique Electroacoustic, based in Bordeaux, France), the upcoming April concerts feature programs of classic musique concréte and electro-acoustic music by composers Patricio da Silva, Christian Eloy, Luc Ferrari, Pierre Henry, Gyorgy Kurtag, Jennifer Logan, Daniel Teruggi, and notable composers of the SCRIME studios. Works are sonorous, rhythmically full of life, luxuriously webbed melodically, harmonically, and texturally, with stunning detail in multiple temporal levels. Inside the intoxicating acoustic space of Neighborhood Church, works are interpretively diffused live by Jennifer Logan, surrounding the audience with sound from twelve state-of-the-art loudspeakers in a unique and captivating experience of contemporary music.
